SERVING CLIENTS IN CLARION COUNTY

Clarion County sits just a little over an hour outside of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, making it part of the Pittsburgh Media Market. The county spans over 600 square miles and encompasses several towns. As of the 2010 census, Clarion County’s sprawling township had a total population of 39,988. With a large working class and wealth of natural resources, Clarion County boasts many small and large businesses, specializing in everything from antiques to contracting.

History

Clarion County was founded in the early 19th century. Born from Venango and Armstrong counties, it was named for the Clarion River which runs through it and served as a dividing line between Venango and Armstrong counties. The rippling river’s waters helped establish Clarion is not only a natural, scenic area but also a profitable bed of natural resources.

As the county grew later on in the 19th century, its oil, timber and iron industries boomed. Later, after the Civil War, the steel industry took up roots in Clarion as well. The vast amounts of untouched lumber attracted many Scotch-Irish and German immigrants, who became Clarion’s major working force.
